E. O. Wilson Lecture

SRSU Honors Program Members:

E. O. Wilson will be presenting a lecture at Midland College (in Midland, Tx) on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 pm.

As Patsy Roberts, President of the SRSU Biology Club, shares, Wilson is an extremely influential evolutionary biologist. Time magazine has named him one of America's 25 Most Influential People and he has won the Pulitzer Prize twice. The purpose of his lecture is "to influence the religious and scientific communities in uniting to protect life on this planet. You can read more about this lecture at:
http://www.midlandcollegefoundation.org/news/davidson/wilson.php."

As a member of the SRSU Honors Program, you know that you must participate in three field trips/conferences in order to graduate with an Honors transcript. Traveling to Midland to listen to Dr. Wilson would count towards fulfilling that requirement.

In coordination with the Biology Club, we plan on taking a van (or vans) to the lecture. The van(s) will leave at 4:00 as the lecture begins at 7:30 PM. You will need to bring a sack dinner. We will return that evening. A sign up sheet is located in the Biology Grad Office, WSB 214. Please sign up by Friday, September 4 (tomorrow) so you can reserve your spot in the van and so that we can get sufficient tickets. There is no cost to you to attend this event (except for providing your own food). When you sign up, please designate that you are a member of the SRSU Honors Program.

My thanks to the Biology Club for their willingness to partner with us on this activity.

Please consider attending this lecture. It sounds fascinating.
